Mark Warner, Levante beach Resort. Rhodes, Greece.
Ok, if I find this label sewn into clothes, it drives me a little crazy. How can on earth can ‘one size fit all’ I mumble? So you might wonder then, if I’ve lost the plot completely, by applying such a term to a holiday. What, with so many different travel styles, budgets, tastes & interests, how can I possibly suggest one holiday covers all bases?
The thing is, after experiencing a Mark Warner Holiday first hand, I genuinely believe it’s suitable from the most independent style of traveller amongst us, to those seeking a ‘package deal’: Sports fans, can pack in thrill seeking, paddle waving, jam packed days:
& for folks craving some peace, tranquility & solace, there is plenty of space designated just for that-an over 18’s only pool? Pure Genius, until some plonka practices their ‘cannon balls’…Yessirree, that’ll be me…..
…or Under water selfies
If being confined to a hotel gives you the heebie geebies, exploring the island & it’s wealth of winding hillside towns couldn’t be easier: Independently hiring a car or via an organised trip, all can be easily booked from the hotel lobby: a Visit to the romantic town of Lindos, should be mandatory.
Alternatively, take to the high seas me hartys’ on a kayaking expedition, or an afternoon sailing competition (all levels are catered for, novice to pro, with the expertise of nautical staff on hand at all times) Falling off your boat ‘a la’ Monika Style is optional…….
All too frequently, our work/ life balance gets thrown out of sync, & family holidays are often focused around realigning this, making memories, replenishing our batteries. Spending time together as a family is a huge priority of course, but having some dedicated ‘me’ or ‘us’ time shouldn’t be overlooked, & this is another area where Mark Warner goes above & beyond expectations. Included in a ‘family’ price is childcare, I’m not advocating one should shoo the kids off all day, every day, (unless of course this works for you) but safe in the knowledge your precious minis are being well looked after, & thoroughly entertained by qualified childcare staff, half a day to chill with my other bestie (Mr Bananas) is a huge selling point. The evening childcare & family dining choices are well planned, with options for early dinner together, or evenings in the crèche for the smalls, complete with a Disney film whilst you dine in peace *without the kids practicing shot put with their peas*. Baby sitting services, with qualified nannies are also offered. Mark Warner leave no stone left unturned, when it comes to thinking of children, & with a meticulous recruitment procedure they only hire the very best, experienced childcare staff.
The rooms! Oh by golly, the glorious rooms. I stayed in a deluxe suite, complete with a separate living & sleeping area. I’ll let the pictures do the talking here….
For those of you escaping for an adult only break, these rooms are also fantastic: with a patio, spanning the entire width of your accommodation, a feeling of openness is achieved. Bask in the sun during the day, or star gaze at night…..
I’ve spoken in the past about my struggle when traveling to manage my coeliac disease, so the thought of ‘buffet’ style food sends me running to the hills. However, any skepticism I had, diminished as soon as I entered the restaurant. Without having to be ‘singled out’ & walked around the buffet by a member of staff (which FYI, I hate) dishes were clearly labeled ‘Gluten free’ & staff were educated & aware of Gluten allergies, in all of the onsite eateries. Dining in the PanAsian is a party for your taste buds, with the staff able to change ingredients to cater for Gluten free..
Whilst in the mornings, when everyone else raved about the tasty crepes, I too could wade in on this topic- with a gluten free flour recipe on offer. Lunchtimes were a chilled affair, in the snack bar, & I can honestly say the chicken fillet is the most succulent I’ve ever had (Nandos, eat yer heart out!)
The entire Mark Warner holiday & Resort experience, seems like a well-oiled operation: one where even the smallest detail isn’t over looked. Equipment is well maintained, or replaced every season. Cleanliness was key, staff were extremely knowledgeable & friendly. If you had any questions or critiques, the hotel management seemed efficient at addressing & resolving these pronto. Not only do they offer deals for couples & Families, but they also organize specific holidays for single parents (& non parents alike) wavering the ‘single person supplement’, & organizing extra ‘social’ activities. Like I said, no stone left unturned, right?!
This is all very subjective, I hear you cry. & Yes, I agree, so I asked the others on our trip for their opinions, to gather a more blanket consensus:
I could literally ramble on all day about how awesome this Vay-Kay was (don’t worry, I won’t) but I can’t stress enough how I really believe Mark Warner do have something for everyone, in the shape of Levante Beach Resort, Rhodes.
I’ll end, by pointing you in the direction of the Experts, The MW team, here.
My Top tip for booking? Call the team. With everything available at our fingertips thanks to the Internet, we sometimes forget to pick up the phone. & Whilst you can make your booking online, it’s a great idea to talk to the MW team-as they can offer invaluable advice on resort facilities, & rustle around to dig out the best deal on price, rooms & flights for you.
So, what are you waiting for?
