Heart on my sleeve: Life philosophy on my t-shirt…….

cool bananas, cool bananas blog, don't be a dick,

My current favourite life philosophy: Don’t be a dick. Tshirt From The Lost Lanes // ETSY Freebird Apparel

I’m a positive soul, but for one reason or another I’ve been feeling a little despondent lately with behavior I’ve witnessed on the increase in society (not you reading this, obvs, you’re totally awesome *hi fives*).

A growing trend whereby people have developed an ignorant attitude, consumed in their own self-promotion, or those with a pissed off perception of the world, & all around them.

Whatever happened to truly supporting & encouraging each other, ‘Paying it Forward’ (a concept taught to me by Alison) & celebrating life? Basically, I’m over the bullshit. ENOUGH. It’s pretty simple, really: ‘Don’t be a dick’. Just don’t.

You might think that with my harsh stance here, I’m a hard-nosed bitch. I promise, that couldn’t be further from the truth: You see, I’m a soppy git & not only do I wear my heart on my sleeve, I flaunt it. Life really is a gift, so I want to Celebrate by broadcasting uplifting life philosophies on my chest, spread the word & shine positivity with these awesome logo t-shirts (I’m pretty sure even if you’re feeling down in the dumps, donning one of these will enhance your mood no end)

I’m far from perfect: & we all have our bad days but let’s pause, take a deeeep breath, gather perspective & refresh our outlook. Break the cycle: Be the change you want to see in the world {Gandhi}.

A few simple rules to live by: Don’t bitch or backstab. Keep an open mind: Don’t judge. Be kind, be gracious, don’t steal (intellectual property or actual physical items), drop the ego & get over yourself (no one knows who you are anyway). DON’T park in parent & child spaces without the presence of your child, be happy, be sad, Smile. Make a fool of yourself- act like a clown. Just don’t be a dick *.

* Hey, let’s be honest, we’ve probably all behaved in a way we’re not proud of at some point, so cut yourself some slack. We’re just human. Apologise & move on, just don’t make it a habit.

What’s your favourite life saying/ motto?

Love this K 🙂 I think if everyone lived by this philosophy then the world would be a better place! Like you say though, I think it’s realistic to know that we are ALL guilty of being a dick sometimes, and I don’t know anyone who hasn’t bitched about someone, whether it’s warranted or not, at some point in their lives. I fear it’s one of human nature’s bad traits, but as long as it’s not a regular thing and it doesn’t define a person, their outlook or the way they treat people then it can be forgiven I think- we all have bad days. I try and be sunny vibes all the way, even if i’m having one of these bad days, although can be easier said than done, haha! xx Oh, and a big YES to not parking in parent and child spaces when you don’t have kids, would definitely go in my ‘Room 101’!

Fab post…I think I’d quite like to wear a t-shirt that says “Don’t be a knob”…that would suit my hormonal mood to a tee this days! Alison suggested I pop over here as we have a gluten-free thing in common…love your blog and looking forward to following your posts from now on! 😉 xx Miss Enchanting
