Oh, Hai there! Erm, so I’ve been a little massively MIA from my blog, completely unintentionally. I haven’t produced anything like as much content as I’d hoped to recently, due to the interference of what can be best described as ‘life admin’.
Behind the scenes, the Mr & I have been gathering momentum submitting our Australia visas (for immigration)- this is something I’m yet to openly discuss on here (I promise, we’re not entering a witness protection program or anything top secret!) On reflection, this year has been especially problematic for me in a variety of health related ways. Despite having this space where I share personal stories & experiences, I’ve become rather introverted in respect of discussing these- perhaps it’s just my personality, I always try to remain positive & avoid dwelling on negativity, so splashing it about on here just isn’t my style yo! I guess my biggest ‘thing’ lately, has been listening to my body: resulting in me removing schedule demands & well, just ‘being’, if that makes any sense at all?
A few months back, I had a frank conversation with Lucy Sheridan & it made my mindset shift quite dramatically. Now, as much as I’d love to conquer the world of blogging & be winning awards left right & centre, I’ve accepted that ‘the timings of my life’ are a huge influence & factor on these goals. I’ve never been one to play at ‘Keeping up with the Jones’, but I think it’s completely natural for us all to feel as though we’re missing the boat: whilst it feels like everyone else around me is excelling & I feel left behind, I have to sternly remind myself that ‘This isn’t your time Katrina’ *I’m totally fist bumping my chest & pulling the peace sign as I say this*. JOMO peeps, JOMO (What is this jomo i speak of? Joy Of Missing Out. C’mon, get with the programme, keep up!)
If you don’t already, I’d love you to follow me over on instagram, I’ve been using this increasingly as a micro blog, & you can keep up to date with all the cool bananas shenanigans there.
Anywhooo, lately I have been…..
Learning how to style pictures for instagram. I took myself off to Brighton on Sunday for a styling workshop with the lovely Emma, from A Quiet Style.
Feeling inspired & igniting my creative juices, when I attended *the* blogging event of the year, blogtacular. It was great to catch up with some of my wonderful ‘internet friends’ & meet some incredible people- Allison Sadler is one you should all get to know.
Enjoying these beautiful warm days, in the back garden with my awesome little boy & the paddling pool. Ahhhhh, life doesn’t get much better than this, eh?
Celebrating The wedding of a Friend (& fellow blogger) Becky. Along with Alison & our significant others, we headed to a spectacular wedding reception: A wedding reception like no other! We spent the evening trying to find our sea legs (made much easier by 2 bottles of prosecco, admittedly) floating up & down the river Thames on a clipper boat. It was so. much. fun.
Travelling around in style like a BIG kid, on my adult scooter. Well, I have to keep up with Bear & stay down with the yooth, don’t I?
Getting to grips with Periscope- the live streaming app. It’s a fun, ‘real time’ video streaming techno thingy (come, come! follow me there.)
Looking forward to spending a week with Mr B & Bear here….
We’re popping over the channel & heading to the beautiful island of Jersey tomorrow, for a week of chilled out bliss, catching up with friends & family. Hopefully, hopefully, I may get the opportunity to tackle my back log of blog work whilst there! (Then again, I might not. I like to live life on the edge after all)
Finally….Working on a project. Hmm, we might call this a movement or a campaign even. It’s something which has been in the back of my mind for quite some time, & I’m trying to knuckle down on the details & get it out there // WATCH THIS SPACE //
What have y’all been up to lately?
