I’m a positive soul, but for one reason or another I’ve been feeling a little despondent lately with behavior I’ve witnessed on the increase in society (not you reading this, obvs, you’re totally awesome *hi fives*). View Post
Top designers have been feverishly paving the way recently, for comfortable, stylish flat footwear, & the high street is adorned with a vast array of desirable styles. Regardless of your ‘natural’ height, feeling confidently stylish or bang on trend in flats can take a little imagination. View Post
Spring Fashion: Toddler style.
Has spring finally sprung? We’ve been treated to a glorious weekend, so my enthusiasm has been restored (for now). It’s beautiful at this time of year, with all those electric colours of nature fully in bloom. & I do love bright colours! Admittedly, with my wardrobe I stick to a pallet of more muted tones, but I adore the flash of a bright pigment here & there. Perhaps this explains why my son is capped in the brightest apparel I can get my mits on! & With this in mind, what better time could there be to showcase my mini fashionista’s closet? (Rachel Zoe eat your heart out!)
& As Far as accessories go….I think you’ll agree with me, his best accessory is his killer smile. Oh, & he is also a little inseparable from his ‘man bag’, Larry the ladybird.
Do you have a mini fashionista? If so why not share their style & link up to: Pearl & Butler .
Workin’ it, whilst working’ out with Gym Style.
Hi *hand waves*, My name is Katrina & I’m a bit of a gym bunny.
Not many of my friends share my love of exercise & quite often when my movements see me heading towards the fitness arena, I’ll get a barrage of comments along the lines of ‘You’re crazy!’ Well as it so happens, I think I am a little bit crazy, but then again I believe we all are! Going for a work out is my escapism. In all honesty, the activity I enjoy the most is: walking. Simple. Only it isn’t so simple in the UK, is it? What with all the precipitation our isle receives, oh & the COLD! If you’re Scandinavian & reading this, I’m sure you’ll beg to differ as you guys have famously coined the phrase ‘there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing’. Ok, point taken. But I like warmth & to remain dry.
Back to the gym: So I like style & I likes the gym, hmmm not a combo that particularly go hand in hand with each other right? Well, I’ve found that exercise clothing has come a long way lately. There are some top-notch ‘luxe’ ranges out there-for those of you with pockets lined with gold. But many of the high street names are functional, perform well & look great. My current obsession: these little lovelies from New Balance. Hawwt colour!
As for clothing, my ultimate love is Nike: Lasts forever & they make some utterly gorgeous coloured running/ workout tights take a peak here¬†. I tend to stick to black clothing (1) It’s the most forgiving colour (2) Sweat marks, umm, you can’t see them in black, enough said? I tend to add colour with my accessories in the gym.
The other must haves: Music & a watch. I love purple, can you tell?
If we take a look at Hollywood celebs, they’re being papped all the time in their work out gear, which has now added an element of ‘cool’ to being out & about in this kind of attire. #win for gym bunnies like me.
I think one of the reasons so many people bulk at the thought of exercise & working out is simply not feeling comfortable in the specialized clothes.  If we can solve this & instill some confidence within these folks, then in theory it may help get a few more ‘bums off seats’ so it’s got to be a good place to start?
A great sports bra is a necessity! These shock absorber ones are the best i’ve found-oh & here is some purple again!
Keep your eyes peeled on the blog, over the coming months I’ll be working on a series of work out & health inspired posts, to hopefully include guest contributions. I’ll be covering all aspects & if there is anything you want to see in there be sure to get in touch & let me know.
